Deleted Records & Out-of-Date Links

Updated October 16, 2026

The old behaviour

An old notification, bookmark or emailed link pointing at a deleted record used to produce a bare 404. That tells you nothing: was it deleted, did you mistype, is something broken?

What you see now

SalesFury sends you back to the relevant list with a plain explanation, and where the deletion was recorded it names the person and the date:

That contact was deleted by Jane Doe on Aug 13, 2026. The link you followed is out of date.

This works for contacts, companies and deals.

Stale notifications clean themselves up

Notifications store a link as plain text, so deleting a record could not automatically remove the notifications pointing at it — which is how a dead link survives for months. Those notifications are now purged when the record is deleted.

Only your organization's history

The "deleted by" detail is read from your own organization's audit log only. A link to a record in a different organization reports that it no longer exists, without naming anybody.

Deletions are recorded

Deleting a company or a deal now writes an audit entry naming who did it. Deleting a company still cascades to its contacts and deals, so it remains the most destructive action in the product — and it now requires the Delete contacts permission rather than being open to any member.
