Adding Users & Sending Password Setup Links

Updated August 17, 2026

Two ways to add someone

From an organization's page in Staff Admin, click Add User. You have a choice about credentials:

1. Email them a setup link (recommended)

Leave Send setup link ticked. The account is created in an inactive state and the user receives an email with a secure, single-purpose link to choose their own password. The account activates as soon as they use it.

This is the better option: you never handle their password, and nothing sensitive is written down or repeated over the phone.

2. Set a password yourself

Untick Send setup link and either type a password or tick Auto-generate to have a strong one created. The account is active immediately. Use this when someone needs access right now and cannot get to their email.

Showing the password while typing

The login page has an eye icon inside the password box. Click it to check what you typed before submitting — useful for a long password pasted from a manager. It hides itself again if you navigate away and come back.

Roles and teams

Pick a role when you create the account — Owner, Admin, Manager or Member. You can also drop the user straight into a team. Both can be changed later. See User Roles & Permissions for what each role can do.

Seat limits

If the organization is at or near its plan's seat limit, a warning appears in the dialog. Adding beyond the limit may affect billing — see Per-Seat Pricing & Seat Management.

Duplicate protection

If the email address already belongs to a user, SalesFury refuses to create a second account and tells you. Existing accounts are never silently overwritten.

If the setup link expires or is lost

Re-send it, or open the user and set a password directly. Setup links are tied to one specific account and stop working once used.
