What call scripts do
A call script appears on screen in the power dialer while the rep is on the call, with the contact's details already merged in. New reps stop improvising, and your best-performing pitch becomes the default rather than tribal knowledge.
Who can write them
Owners and admins always. Managers can too, unless an admin has turned that off under manager permissions. Reps read scripts but cannot edit them.
Creating a script
- Go to Settings and find the Call Scripts card — or open Dialer Settings, where the same list appears.
- Click New Script, give it a name and write the body.
- Optionally tie it to a specific call list, so a cold list and a renewal list each get their own wording.
- Save. Mark one script as the default and it is used whenever no list-specific script applies.
Merge fields
Wrap a field name in double braces and it is replaced with the contact's value as the script is displayed:
first_name,last_name,full_namecompany,job_titlephone,email
Anything missing on the contact renders as blank rather than showing the raw token, so a script never reads "Hi {{ first_name }}" out loud on a call.
Writing a script reps will actually use
- Keep the opening to two sentences. Anything longer gets skipped.
- Write the objection handling out in full — that is the part people freeze on.
- Use headings so a rep can find their place mid-sentence.
- Only one script can be the default. Everything else should be attached to the list it belongs to.
Editing later
Changes take effect on the next call. Deactivate a script rather than deleting it if you might want it back — deactivated scripts stay out of the dialer but keep their history.
